F New Jersey

The Following was posted on the NJ State home page. It appears that the State of NJ is now demanding that people appltying for their drivers license....to operate a vehicle...must "answer a few simple, yet potentially life-saving questions, regarding organ donation." and "they must check off a box acknowledging that they have reviewed the importance of making an organ donation decision." Ok, I know I'm a little slow...but what the FUCK does donating organs have to do with driving? And what does the State of NJ want to do next to infringe on the privacy and rights of it's citizens.

I for one CANNOT wait to get out of this overtaxed, privacy invading state...you folks who stay here...best of luck to ya.......

ACTING GOVERNOR CODEY SIGNS NEW JERSEY HERO ACT

Establishes State as Pioneer in Organ Donation

LIVINGSTON – Acting Governor Richard J. Codey today signed legislation that forges New Jersey’s standing as a pioneer in organ donation by requiring residents to make organ donation decisions before applying for a driver’s license and requires mandatory organ donation education for high school students.

“Our goal is to generate a collective awareness about the importance of organ donation so that those who want to donate will. Ultimately, we want to move this important conversation out of the emergency room, where illness and injury already create a profound burden, and into the living room, where a thoughtful and deliberate decision can be reached without the pain of loss looming on the horizon. Hopefully, one day organ donation will no longer be an afterthought, but a forethought,” said Acting Governor Codey.

The bill, S755/A2083 also known as the “New Jersey Hero Act,” creates an interactive component to the already existing Donate Life Registry provided by the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC). Approximately 23.53 % of New Jersey drivers/ID holders currently have the donor designation.

With the legislation every resident 18 years of age or older applying for a driver’s license or identification card is required to answer a few simple, yet potentially life-saving questions, regarding organ donation. If an individual is not ready to make that decision, they may designate a decision maker on their behalf. The designated decision maker component is not recorded in the MVC database, but will act much like a living will. If a person does not wish to become a donor or designate a decision maker on their behalf, they must check off a box acknowledging that they have reviewed the importance of making an organ donation decision. This process will be available in nine months but will not be mandatory for five years in order to allow for adequate public education.

Overall, the measure is a crucial component to increasing the number of organ donors in the Garden State because it alleviates certain fears that the donor decision will affect the quality of care received in an emergency room.

“The death of a loved one can be devastating to a family, but families of organ donors at least have a measure of solace in knowing their loved one’s final act was to give the gift of life to someone else in need,” said Senator Joseph F. Vitale (D-Middlesex), a sponsor of the Hero Act and Chair of the Senate Health Committee. “Through these new laws, we’re raising the dialogue about organ donation, and ensuring that New Jerseyans talk to their loved ones about the possibility of becoming a donor. By increasing awareness of organ donation programs, we can maximize participation and save lives.”

The bill also incorporates a comprehensive education component at the high school and collegiate levels. Under the NJ Hero Act, New Jersey is the first state to incorporate mandatory organ donation education into the high school core curriculum, beginning with the 2009-2010 school year. At the collegiate level, institutions of higher education will be required to provide information on New Jersey’s organ donor policies through student health services.

“By increasing outreach and education, all New Jerseyans will be able to make better-informed decisions regarding organ and tissue donation,” said Assemblyman McKeon (D-Essex). “Ensuring every resident knows the vital importance of organ donation will make it easier for many more people to take the simple but truly heroic step that can help save a life.”

As of March 2008, 4,341 New Jersey residents were awaiting organ transplants. In 2007, 692 New Jersey residents received 696 lifesaving organ transplants; 195 New Jersey residents became organ donors that same year. More than 2,470 New Jersey residents have died on the organ donor waiting list over the last 10 years.

Assembly sponsors of the bill include Assemblymen John F. McKeon (D-Essex), Albert Coutinho (D-Essex/Union) and Patrick Diegnan, Jr. (D-Middlesex) and Assemblywoman Mila M. Jasey (D-Essex).

Proud Day

Today, I will sit among hundreds of other parents watching my daughter receive her degree from Monmouth University. Not

having accomplished that same goal, I am beaming with pride. A few of you who know of this, have congratulated ME and I

realize that this is one of our cultures usual response to this accomplishment but in reality, all the accolades should to go

to my daughter Kristen.

It was her hard work and determination that have gotten her to this achievement and she deserves all the praise that she can

handle.

For those of you who don't know her...she is a shy, petite 4'10",..ok, mabye 4'10 1/2"...quiet person...well,

sometimes....but, as with all children, I have a special story that I just have to tell you, now that you know her

stature.....of course she will probably give me one of those "I can't believe you told this story" looks...anyway..we were at

the movies one day....just sitting there, enjoying the flick..don't remember what it was but it must have been good cause we

were intently watching it....as we sat there, a group of teenagers, maybe 6 in all, were 2 rows behind us, talking...loudly

enough for people to look, but not say anything...now, I was letting it go, figuring they would stop, sometime soon...well,

they didn't, and I could see it was starting to get to Kris cause she looked back more than once....so, it continued for a

few minutes...and I was getting to the point where I was going to go over to them and suggest that it would be in their best

interest to quiet down....but before I could, my quiet, shy, reserved daughter, get's up, turns around and says to them '

"WHY DON'T YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP"...does the phrase, "knocked me over with a feather"...mean anything...well, as you can

imagine...I KNEW it was time to get someone to remove these kids from the theater, for their own safety.....from that little

frame came the authority of a person more fitting my size 6'2"...was I proud, hell yeah...not so much for what was said, but

from how it was said....basically it was "Don't fuck with me"...

So I sit today, with hundreds of other parents, knowing that my little shy, petite child, will go out into the world having

all the knowledge that has been imparted to her from one of the finest Universities in NJ, and for all the hours she has

spent in lecture halls and all the papers she has written, and all the hours studying....and she will say to the

world.....you guessed it....."DON'T FUCK WITH ME I'M A COLLEGE GRADUATE"...and I say to her......i AM PROUD OF YOU

Air Wasters

I found the following article on Neatorama, a blog I read daily. I know it's not PC to profile but C'MON people....are these halfwitted, lowlifes procreating...and when they do, THIS is what they think? We have to do something realistic about the gang situation...this, getting to know these assholes and what their problems are is for the fucking birds....you wanna join a Gang...I got one for ya...the "I don't have a life and shouldn't be allowed to Live" gang....if you are going to join a violent club, then let's give them what they want, death by violence...take them out to a nice quiet place and execute them like they would rival gang members to "make their bones"...let's make our "bones" and treat them like they should be.

"Parents normally fight to keep their children out of gangs, but not this one: the mother is a Crip, and the father is a Westside Baller. And they got into a fight over which gang their 4-year-old toddler should join!

On Saturday, Joseph Manzanares stormed into the Hollywood Video store where his girlfriend worked, threatened to kill her and knocked over several video displays and even a computer, Commerce City police Sgt. Joe Sandoval said. […]

His girlfriend told police that they had been arguing about the upbringing of their son and which gang he should belong to. The teen mother, who is black, is a member of the Crips. Manzanares is Hispanic and belongs to the Westside Ballers gang, the woman said.

"They have different ideas on how the baby should be raised. Basically, she said they cannot agree on which gang the baby would ‘claim,’"Sandoval said."

Who, what?

Ok, so I'm sitting at my computer in my boxers....I know, not a pretty site, but let's see what YOU look like at 6AM...anywho, I realized I am posting less and less frequently...it must be the weather.....it's finally starting to hold in the 50+ range around these parts, which means it's time to start using 2 wheels more than 4. And a good thing, with the gas prices slowly creeping up AND around these parts, due to the tourist influx we get for the summer, the prices will be going up more each week....

So, not much new at Casa Tom....work is as exciting as it ever was....but each month clicks another off the retirement countdown.....since you've asked, it's at 18 months to go....and of course the proverbial question is always "what will you do when you retire"? Haven't a clue as of yet...but if all goes right, we should be in Santa Cruz by then, no offense to Pat....we want her living a long and fruitful life...those of you who know, know what I mean..I really would like to get into working for a Harley Dealership...yes, yes, I know a pipe dream, but it would be fun....perhaps go back into retail, ewwwww...that means working at least one day on the weekend and this old boy doesn't like that at all....we'll see once we get to the West Coast...

Well, it's time to get ready to go slave for THE MAN...till next post

Peace

Digital or Bust

just a brief word about the Digital TV conversion in Feb 2009......... RAPE

Here is the link for the FAQ's re: the mandatory conversion to digital, that will take place in Feb '09

http://www.dtv.gov/consumercorner.html#faq1

In a nutshell it says...that if you have over the air TV now.....that means, if you use an antenna or rabbit ears.......you will need to convert to digital by the conversion date....if you alreay have cable or sat....your cable or Sat company will be all digital by then...oh you say but they already offer digital...you are correct.....and this mandate by the FCC says that YOU WILL subscribe to one of those digital packages offered by your cable or Sat company on or by the conversion date.....WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT......

Or yet another way to look at it is.....if you want to watch TV, you will pay what the Cable or Sat company wants to charge you....or get ready to watch a lot of nothing....that's right...they are in control and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it......or is there????????

I'm sure there are some enterprising young minds out there who could come up with a way to bypass those digital boxes.......and get the feeds for free....what's that you say, it's stealing...au contraire...the signal is out there for anyone to intercept.....it's just that the Cable and Sat companies have the money to harness it and bring it into your home...but if you the consumer...found a way to harness it also, well, you would be just like the cable and sat companies......I for one will be preusing the Net for these methods.....hello Gov't...you cannot make me pay to watch TV...you may TRY to make me pay but unless you are going to come to my abode and steal my hard earned cah, it won't happen, if I can help it

Now some of you are probably saying, "I get digital now, and it's not that expensive"..oh really....50+ dollars a month isn't expensive NOW but just think back to when Cable and igital started, how much did it cost.....do you really think the price is going to remain where it is now once Feb '09 rolls around? Oh but Tom, the Gov't will control pricing....DOH!!! who do you thing is caving to the Cable and Sat companies NOW for this bogus conversion....think about it.....

Hey I'm Back

I know, I know...where the hell have I been....well, I've been preoccupied helping a friend move.....not a good enough excuse.....tough, deal with it :)

Anywho, I've heard from a couple of you all saying that you would prefer to get the words of wisdom from me thru email.....geez, how fucking lazy can ya be.....just save the website on your desktop and then you can just click on it....do you need someone to work the mouse for ya too? But for those of you too lazy to go to the site, relax, here I am invading your email space.

So what is new...well, in case you folks don't keep up on the news from this area, we had a murder recently of a 15 year old girl by her 24 year old cousin. The girls parents took their nephew in to help him out and HOW does her repay that favor......yep, by strangling his cousin AND hiding the body in the basement......and NJ did away with the death penalty...thanks Corzine.....now, once this waste of air is convicted, WE, the taxpayers, will keep him alive....geez it would be nice if we could keep the girl alive by paying our taxes but we can't because of this asshole....very strange, don't ya think.

Let's see what else, well we almost celebrated the 5 year anniversary of the Iraq war AND the 4000th american death in Iraq on the same date, just missed each other...and trust me, that 4000th death is not a celebration....good thing we got rid of Sadam...that fixed everything.....hey George W, when you signing up them girls of yours.....yeah right

Well I guess that's enough for you all for now, hope that appeases the Blog Gods

Peace Out.

Govs, hookers and Toilet Seats

So our little Hooker, that Sptizer ...well "hooked" up with, is just a little ole NJ gal...and from right around the corner in Belmar.....ahh the Jersey Shore...sand, sun...and REAL FUN...alas, she went on to bigger and better plans....but I say good for her....she was working...although, I for one don't see that as work....moreso....a job you gotta love over and over an over...well, you get the picture.....ok....I'll be a bit sexist here...just cause I know some people would love to debate this...BUT..how many of you guys would mind having this type of job..."oh pleae, don't make me do that again".....I thought so....I know ladies, it's different for guys...and we men sure are glad :)

Now for something completely different (Monty Pythonish)....there was this lady, in Kansas..which happens to be where my cousin is residing...hmmm...anywho, this lady sat on her boyfriends toilet for 2 years.....yes, you heard right 2 friggin years....now, here's the deal.....again, sexist if you want......Guys, how many of you have had that certain meal, topped off by mass quantities of beer...you know the meal that demands you use the bathroom 1st and I mean 1st thing in the AM. And then.....you wait and sit...cause it's going to be a while before you get up off that seat......and the longer you sit, the more numb your legs get......well imagine that for 2 years...and then, her skin had grown around the seat so it had to be surgically removed.....holy "crap" :) And her boyfriend says he tried to convince her to leave the bathroom but she wouldn't.....now to the interesting part....if you HAVE seen the story, did you see the exquisite trailer they were living in.....it looks like a 1 bathroom place...so my question is for the boyfriend...DUDE, WTF???? I mean where did you do your business if your darling, and I'm assuming she is 1 purty girl, was occupying your only toilet for 2 years....but of course, if you've seen the trailer and it's surrounding local, you just know there has to be an outhouse close by...these folks were living the good life that's fur shure.....yee haa

Well, that's it for now, enjoy your Friday.

Client #9

So many subjects, so little time

Let's just dive right in, Elliot Spitzer.....what can ya say....hey Gov, it's illegal to hire a hooker......if you needed me to tell you that, maybe you should be sharing some of that big money they give ya for being the Gov. I mean, c'mon dude.....you were in Washington, GW's town...what made you think you WEREN'T being bugged....tsk.....well, at least ya didn't get caught with your pants around your ankles....and boy did your wife looked pissed....I sure wouldn't want to be you for a long while...that biatch is gonna have your testicles on a platter

ok, enough about Elliot...on to vomiting...now, when you read that didn't you go ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww....so you know how I felt when this show about Interventions was dealing with this Buelemic (yes, I know, it's probably mispelled) chick....the show is about Intervention...not puking, yet, we just had to see how this whacko purged....about a gazillion times...hey, TV show people, no one wants to see some skinny ass chick puking....yeah, we all know what it entails and we don't need to see it on TV...tell me why she does it, what contributes to it and all the crap that brought it about and anything else...but if you think watching someone leaning over the bowl puking is entertainment...well, I guess that's why we have the shit for shows we have now.

Bruce who?

If you are a Springsteen fan, you may not appreciate this

Last night, I was flipping channels and came across a Roy Orbison special....now, I wasn't a BIG fan, and still am not, of Orbisons but felt compelled to watch it cause it was in Black and White...which I believe was part of the title...it was a semi tribute with Elvis Costello, Bonnie Raitt, KD Lang, Sprigsteen and others, accompanying Orbison, doing his songs. Now, I AM a fan of Costello and Lang...so I settled in to watch....

So, they did the usual, lyrics and some solo leads....what amused me is when they would go to Springsteen, for a "lead riff" he looked like a deer in the headlights....after others performed their solo bits with flourish, Sprigsteen could barely manage a decent riff, worthy of a good musician....but yet, he was all about forcing his way onto Orbisons place, on stage, like it was his concert.....Hey Bruce, you are not the one they are honoring and you aren't in the same catagory as Orbison so sit down in the corner and strum...what an annoying asshole he was....oh, and I have always questioned his guitar abiltiies and this show, helped to strengthen that belief....what a poser

Oh, I know some of you folks treasure the boy from Freehold....well, I'll give you this, Brucie did manage some "decent" lyrics way back in the day...but now he's a 2nd rate performer at best....sorry,I know some of you fancy yourselves music experts...and can spout how one artists lyrics are the best ever...or have been to every concert of another artist and fancy yourself an expert, that no one can refute...I get all that hype...but I know what I like and enjoy and Springsteen's time has come and gone, so...let's hope there is another "wonder" coming out of NJ soon...cause this ship has sailed.

A bonus and then some

Well, if you never thought about how corrupt some Gov't agencies were, you won't believe this.

Since I couldn't find the article to copy and paste, here is the short version of an article printed in the Asbury Park Press today.

It seems that "5 months after returning from a 60-day unpaid suspension for giving no-bid contracts to a boyfriend, municipal Housing Authority chief Mary Jo Grauso was awarded a $4,000 bonus Tuesday on top of the standard 3 percent raise"
"Authority commissioners defended the raise and bonus..."

Ok, this stinks so bad it makes the Landfill on Staten Island smell good, no offense to Staten Island....can you believe this...I mean, ok, I'm all for giving folks a raise, even though I'm sure there was a major ethics violation here, and nothing short of possible criminal activity...BUT, to throw a bonus to someone who, at the least, violated something strong enough to warrant a 60 day suspension?????

There needs to be an investigation into this and I hope the State Attorney General has been appraised of this situation and is starting the wheels to get to the bottom of this fiasco. If it is found that the commissioners violated any laws or ethics, at the least, they should be removed from their positions immediately....

Baseball and all that crap

Ok, let's discuss this Roger Clemens fiasco

1st of all, if he did take these steroids he obviously wasn't as good as was thought...so he should be kicked out of baseball. Along with Barry Bonds who should b stripped of any achievements he completed while using these enhancements....they are not of the same caliber as the other players who didn't see the need to enhance their performance with substances.

Now the main part of my rant....the FBI is starting an investigation as to whether Clemens lied to the Gov't......WTF? How much money are we wasting finding out if some lameass baseball player lied...it's only friggin baseball...it's a sport that has run it's course...it is no longer Americas Pastime, that is now Football....I mean c'mon....do we need to waste the resources of the FBI on this? Just send it down to a trivial little lower court, which is where it belongs considering the subject and let it be...if they find him guilty, who cares...it's not worth the time and money....and recognition , it is getting from the media...Roger Clemens is a has been, now let's move on to something that matters.

FREEHELD wins OSCAR

Just a short one today, cause I really should be getting ready for work

I was ecstatic to hear that "FREEHELD" won the Oscar for best short documentary...if you didn't hear of it, I am not surprised but I will tell you why I am happy it won....

Freeheld, is the story of Laurel Hester and her partner Stacie...yes folks they are a gay couple....Laurel was a member of our Prosecutors Office when she was diagnosed with terminal cancer....I'd known Laurel for the many years we both had been employed at the County. When she was diagnosed and knew she would die shortly, she and her partner became more aware that there were no death benefits for gay partners only for "married" couples....this didn't seem fair to them, or the many others who thought the same, I among them....she asked the Ocean County Freeholders to please adopt a resolution to allow death benefits to same sex couples...the Freeholders denied that request....initially...it was only after many months of constant protests and letters and pleas that they finally gave in and in the 11th hour agreeed to their request.....I believe that Laurel only lasted 2 or 3 months more before passing.....

This movie is about their struggle to get these rights agreed to and it continues into the last days of Laurel's life, which the filmmaker allowed Laurels partner Stacie to film in private

If you get a chance to see what determination these 2 had and the fight they had to put up just to get the rights of other couples, please see it.

Oh, and if I remember correctly, 1 of the Freeholders declined to vote...I won't mention that Freeholders name as he is not worthy of any recognition or respect.

Dear "ABBY"

Ok, so I missed a couple of days...I know.....but I am such a busy person.....anyway

What makes people write to Dear Abby..I mean, is your life so pathetic that you have to ask a newspaper column writer what THEY think you should do about your "problems"? I've never understood why these people write in but have been amused by these losers....which brings me to the subject of todays rant

There's this 30 yr old guy who has been dating this 29 yr old teacher...for get this, a whole 7 months....true love there indeed...you can already see my 1st problem...DUDE, you are a 30 yr old GUY and you are writing to Dear Abby...WTF? I'm just wondering how you got anyone, of any species, to date you if you are inclined to write to Dear Abby....but I digress...he goes on to say, that he was attracted to her the 1st time he saw her....again, you're a guy, of course you were attracted to her instantly..all us guys are.....of course we rarely know what color eyes they have till much later on...or even if they have a head..you get my drift...anywho...the dude says, over the past few months...yeah dumbass, he's "bonded" with ehr family.....you're kidding right....what a putz, and he'd like nothing more than to make her his wife...again, WTF??????? Dude, if you are writing to Dear Abby, I'm guessing you haven't even gotten her clothes off yet, so where in that pinhead of yours did the decision to marry this other loser come from..yikes

So, pinhead and his new girl, I'm thinking his only, go out to dinner and she tells him she wants a break....she's doesn't have "closure" from her previous relationship, of 6 years...translation, at least her former would put out, not like this dickless wonder....anyway...he's distraught and hasn't talked to her since...translation, she won't answer the 50 phone calls from him daily.....and he wants Abby to tell HIM how long he should go without making contact with her....uh, dumbass, you won't ever, unless it's in court when she signs the restraining order.....what a Freaking idiot....and he's 30...boy is he fucked.....

well, anyway, I think we'll make this a permenant part of the Blog....maybe instead of "dear Abby" which of course I can't use....maybe, we'll call it, "Dear Clueless"....what do you all think

Weather is kinda cloudy and overcast...and not very warm, so no riding today :(

Well, it's Lincoln's Birthday...hope everyone else, who is still gainfully employed....is enjoying the holiday, as I am..no work today for us Gov't types ...well, ya wouldn't want us to disrespect the old Prez now would ya? :) We really should have all the Presidents birthdays off...I mean it is a little discriminatory just having Lincolns and Washingtons...oh and the Washingtons birthday scam is a good one....if some of you don't recall, his birthday is really the 22nd but since we all needed to have a Monday off....the Gov't decided to change his birthday to suit their whims and change the name to Presidents day...simply amazing..of course it's not bad having the day off.

We are expecting snow up this way...WTF???? It's been unseasonably mild here in South Jersey and NOW were supposed to get snow.....it's just not right...where is that damn global warming...heat this State up damnit

Well, again, enjoy the day off, if you have it, if not...have fun at work HAHAHAHA

The Grammys and other stuff

ok, I know we all get older and have NO clue about the music of our children but how the fuck does this crack smokin' chick, Amy Winehouse, win a Fucking grammy..if the Grammy is "supposed" to be the reward for being the best performer....how am I to believe that this....crack smokin' chick is the best we got for Song of the Year......maybe the question I should be asking is WTF happened to the songwriters of days gone by....ok, ok...maybe I'm not in touch with what is "happening"..but you know what, if she is what's "happening" I'm glad I don't have a clue...sheesh

Oh, and to make your day even better, here is a story to make all you Lottery players fuckin ecstatic....it seems that a Level 3 sex offender in Mass has won 10 million dollars in their lottery....yep, if you thought it was all rigged, rest easy cause if a sex offender can win, maybe you can too......what are the odds :)

Well it's the 1st day of my vacation and I'm almost willing to lay odds on how long it takes for my staff to call me at home...maybe it's my fault by letting them know I would be home for the vacation....and it didn't take long, called me this morning....

Lotteries

Ok, so I'm checking my Pick 6 tix this morning AND...yes you guessed it, I won......ok, so it wasn't 6 for 6 or even 5 of 6...BUT....4 of 6 is pretty ok. Comes to about $56....but I'll take it....which brings me to the point of my message today......have a seat and listen to my tale.....way back when, can't remember how long ago, I used to keep the lottery tix I bought in my wallet.....and the size of my wallet increased with each ticket I put in there....I'm a devout precrastinator...so after a while, when I couldn't sit on the wallet anymore, it was suggested to me to go check the damn tix.......so I go to my local lottery place, which was the liquor store I frequented...and asked a friend of mine there just to check the wad of tix for me......and there was a WAD, believe me.....so after about the.....let's say, 30th ticket.....my friend says, hey you won.....now I'm figuring, at best 3 out of 6......but he says no, you hit 5 out of 6.....of course I thought he was shitting me, but he was in fact not shitting me.......I had in fact hit for 5 of 6 for about $2,700.00...I was floored..had to fill out the state forms and mail them in....and sure enough, within a couple of weks, I got my check.....which was promptly tuned into a blazing fast new 386 computer....see, for those of you who know computers, I told you this was a while ago...anyway...this tale is for those of you who don't believe that people win the lottery...they do....now I only hit the smaller amounts, but I do have an employee who's husband hit the Pick 6 when it 1st started, so it was only a Million payed over 26 years...and that was so long ago, that it is well past the 26 years since he won it....but it does happen...so keep, or start, playing those tix

Back in the saddle

Well, I am beating this chest cold down, just so I can keep up with all you folks and your exciting days....how about this weather...it was in the 60's here in NJ yesterday......yes, 60's.....only problem WAS the weather...it was threatening rain all day AND I was feeling crappy, so no taking advantage of the weather for riding purposes :(

But, since I will be off on Vacation next week, maybe, just maybe the weather gods will be good to me and give me one day to take the toy out of the shed and ride. If only...

Well, Britiny Spears is out of the hospital ...... again....let's see how long she'll stay out this time.....obviously there is some mental issue with this chick....I mean really, if she didn't WANT all this attention, then start kicking some paparazzi ass.....I think if she F**ked up a few of these fools, she may get fined or something, but the other photofreaks would get the clear message to back off......and then they could use the news for more important issues......what they are, I have no idea, but there has to be something more interesting that Britiny S.

How about them Giants

Well, well.....How about them Giants....ok, ok, I'll give profs to the Pats but damn, you're
on the verge of a perfect season and you let it get away? Or did they....there are so many
scenarios...but it comes down to, either the Giants BEAT the Pats or the Pats just couldn't
BEAT the Giants.....either way, how about them Giants...oh, already said that... :) All in
all a pretty good game, a bit of a snoozer thru the 2nd and 3rd quarters though...it almost
felt like both teams were waiting for the other to do anything.....
And what was with that Baby commercial...it's bad enough it used a little (ugh) baby, but it
was just so wrong, having the baby spit up, is there anything more disgusting?
On another note, your esteemed author is home with a chest cold....cough, cough...so, it's
short and sweet this morning...hopefully, after much DayQuil and NyQuil, I will be back to
myself
Till tomorrow

The Big Game

Well, I'll try this again, since the 1st post didn't get thru....Horray, the Big day is finally here....Th Super Bowl is tonight, for those of you who have been living in a cave.....the Giants vs The Patriots...I for one, being a Giants fan, am looking forward to the Giants spoiling the Pats attempt at the perfect 19-0 season.....not that I wouldn't want the Pats to do it, just not against my Giants.. :) So grab all the beer and snacks you can, settle down and let the game begin

Final score, which would win me the office pool

Giants 24
Patriots 20

We'll see how good I am at predicting

Enjoy the game

and then there were 4

Ok, OK....I know there are more than 2 Rep in the race but does the phrase "slim to none" fit for the also rans? And what about those Reps......they are smacking each other about who said what and when.....nothing about what they will do FOR the country, it's all about...look at me, I did this and that....when most of the rhetoric is embelished, to say the least....and if I hear McCain say how he has the most experience one more time.....get over yourself John, you have the most experience cause you're fucking old........geez.....and what is up with his cheek, when is that Alien going to be born......I expect something to pop out of his cheek whenever see him.....

Ok, on to the Dens, last night Obama and Clinton.....or the minority twins....rally played nice in their debate.....it seemed like they were laying off bashing each other now that the Reps are bitchslapping each other......which is kind of refreshing
Did anyone else catch Keith Olbermans Commnetary of Bush and the Telecoms, last night? If not, hop over to this link and watch it, very enlightening....http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/22941422#22941422

Days to go

Have you heard that the Sudent Gov't of Montclair State University has frozen funds for the school newspaper? The newpaper claims it is because they were questioning the Student Gov't holding closed meetings, which is a violation of the Open Meetings Act of NJ. The Student Gov't says they frooze the funds because, now get this, the paper hired an attorney to look into the SG's holding of closed meetings. The SG says they should have used the SG attorney...are they friggin kidding? Yeah, and that attorney would be totally objective....right!!!!!!!!! Oh and the last name of the SG prez..."Chicken"...go figure

So, next Tuesday is the primary, here in NJ, so you folks who really want your fave candidate to be the next nominee, need to get out there and vote.....

Now on to the important stuff....THE SUPERBOWL IS SUNDAY!!!! Yes kiddies, it's here...and what? the Giants are in it...not the Eagles or the 49ers???? How could that happen....oh some people, and you know who you are, would say that the Giants "cheated"....of course you would say that.....sour grapes indeed.....suck it up and be fair about it.....or be a sore loser and whine...doesn't matter, cause the Giants are in it.....and that will be the ONLY thing on my tv on Sunday night.......

Rudy who?

So.....Florida pretty much took care of Rudy Gulliani.....ok, ok...Rudy actually took care of himself. Besides his constant use of 9/11...no, make that disrespectful use of 9/11....which in itself should have bounced his ass from any consideration for the Rep Nomination.....you would think when his home state and the NY Times wouldn't back him that he would have gotten a clue.....but, I think the fact that he didn't get the hint from that pretty much sums up his abilities to rationalize things.....so were are basically down to Romney and McCain for the Rep nominee....Huckabee...is well..Huckabee......that says it all.....scary isn't it....

Stand up, Sit Down

Well, Bush made his last speech to the nation...at least I hope it was the last one....cause I don't think I will be able to keep my food down if he does another......what a buffoon. And how stupid do the Senators and Congressfolk look....when they stand up and sit down...who knows how many times, but I'm sure someone counted...and how funny was it when the Rep half would stand and the Dems would stay seated.....yep, we're one nation alright.....as long as you're on the winning side....what a friggin farce...it's no wonder other countries watch us and laugh.....

On a brighter note, it's Tuesday and one day closer to the weekend.....

No More Speeches

Well, it looks as though tonight is the last State of the Union for GW....thankfully.....oh, he'll get the usual standing ovations.....from the Rep side of the room, but I'm betting not as many of his party will be supporting him as there used to be...many are trying to distance themselves from the sinking ship that is the USS GW...and can you blame them? Wouldn't it be a breath of fresh air if instead of the usual rhetoric coming from GW's mouth, he was honest and up front with his speech...perhaps it would go something like this

(starting off with his signature laugh)

"heh, heh.....well y'all, I really F**ked things up, didn't I...heh, heh...I mean really, did any of you think there were WMD's over there????? heh, heh, heh.....and how about Iraq.....I really pulled a boner on that invasion thing......boy howdy, and you all supported me...well up to a point...heh, heh...guess I'm not going to be remembered for being the best prez ever...heh, heh, heh...well, on that note, F**k y'all, I'm outta here"

Sunday and no football :(

Ok, so it's Sat night...well it was yesterday, and I'm watching TV....and the commercials are running....let's see if you can guess what they are for...hmmmm, here's one for Vagisil...any guesses ladies?...or Garlique...now there's a stumper...there are numerous products on the market that pretty much are named for either their contents or where they are to be applied....so why don't we have others like say....."Shit-Ur-Brains-out" instead of ex-lax...I mean, ex-lax sounds like an anti-laxative, when we all know it is quite good at what it does.....then theres Pepto Bismal...WTF, it should be called "Stop Pukin"....I mean c'mon folks if we're gonna label some products for the things they do, why not all.....do any of you have any other good product "names"?
On a slightly different note, the weather is cloudy and cold....no fun at all, perhaps another day of chores as there is nothing interesting to go do today...enjoy your weekend all..don't forget next Sunday is the Superbowl...and who's not playing in it Joe.... :)

Yawn!!!

Well if you missed the Rep debate last night, you didn't miss much...what a snoozer.....these guys are about as lively as a 3 toed sloth watching paint dry...I mean c'mon you guys...spark it up a little....at least the Dems almost came to blows, no offense Hillary. Oh wait, McCain did make a funny about Stallone going to Huckabees camp to beat up Chuck Norris, Ooooooooooooooooo 2 old action figures battling it out.....how sad would that be.....hey and what about Gulliani...how embarrassing for him, his own hometown paper, NYTimes, endorses McCain instead of him.....is he that stupid not to drop out...does he have that much money to waste? Hey Rudy, send your excess cash to me, I promise I'll buy something real nice and purty.....

Well, it's Friday and friggin cold here in the NE, but as each day is passing it gets closer to the warmer weather and riding time.

Catch you all tomorrow

Last Word

Ok, if I have to stomach anymore HEATH coverage I'm going to hurl....enough already, he was a nobody, got a good part in a movie, he's dead...move on...geez....Furturama is back on and all we hear about is this one hit wonder....and what about the Obama vs Clinton battle...I mean, that's been pushed back for the coverage of the pill poppin stiff....hello? one of these clowns is probably going to be the next President...what? You don't think a republican's going to win....with the way GWB has totally F'ed things up for his party....not to mention his gaggle of sleazeball cronies.....any Rep who sides with GWB might as well resign from politics now cause when the voters go to the pols, it's all over for the GOP this round.....

Heath Who?

Well, just when you thought you'd seen it all.....Oh My God, Heath Ledger is dead.....I don't know how I fell asleep last night....what, you have no idea who Heath Ledger is??? Don't feel bad, neither did I until all the tv channels just HAD to cover this TRAGIC story....so, I found out he did Brokeback Mountain....well, slap me upside my head and call me stupid, how could I not know that...oh simple, never saw the movie....nor did I care to...so what else is Heath famous for???? Why there's Brokeback Mountain, and then there's.....Brokeback Mountain...and who could forget his famous portrayal in .....you guessed it Brokeback Mountain....that's all folks....his longstanding illustrious career.....YET, Jeffrey Lyons almost broke down telling the sad and tragic tale of HL's long life...WTF, he was 28....he did one friggin dumbass movie and he's a legend...sorry....and then there's this guy from People mag on channel 3 news this morning saying how HL's breakout role, which would make him "an international star", I kid you not, is his portrayal of the Joker in the upcoming movie "The Dark Knight" yet another Batman movie, cause we surely needed another...so by portraying the Joker in a movie that probably a select few will actually pay money to see, is going to make him an "International Star"...are you fucking kidding me...and this guy works for People mag...oh, never mind, that pretty much says it all...talk about wasting air time....hey Heath, thanks for all the great pictures you've made.........Brokeback Mountain....

Obama vs Clinton Smackdown

Did any of you get a load of the Dem debate last night on TV? What a friggin fiasco.....Obama and Clinton were at each others like kids in the schoolyard...and Edwards just sat back and llet them make fools of themselves....I gotta tell ya, if last night were the election....I would not have voted for either Obama or Clinton.....who would want either of them running a country....hopefully they will get back to the issues and stop bashing each other....

Super Bowl XLII, here we come

Well, well...and the Packers were picked to win....seems things didn't turn out all that well for the Green/Yellow....what a shame....NOT, whoo hooo Big Blue is back in the Big game....ok, I know it's against the Pats...but at least they got there...unlike some other teams, with bird Mascots....right Joey...

Happy Saturday

So, the weekend has arrived and we survived the 1st edition of the Blog....I think it looks pretty good, oh yeah, I know it needs to be tweaked here and there but for a 1st attempt, not too shabby....so, what to do on a long weekend? Well, doing laundry of course...not much in the way of events going on this weekend so it may be a cooking, cleaning type of thang...which is not all that bad..get some food made for the week and pretty things up around here....being productive for once. The weather is not going to be too cooperative...and Sunday is going to be too damn cold to venture outside....and there are playoffs to watch anyway....maybe just curl up on the couch, with some yummy food and brewskies and relax.

Well, however you are spending your Sat I hope you enjoy it

MSNBC

What do you think

Hey Gang, here's the BLOG. Let me know what you think of it. Also, any suggestions for it.

MLK Comments

Here are some of the responses to my recent MLK email

From Renee:
I was in college. We were not "taught" about his work, but it was very
prevalent on the newscasts - we saw the marches and heard the speeches
(parts thereof). The whole time was one of upheaval with the war and the
Civil Rights movement, when my generation was trying to make the country
more responsive to what we saw as things that needed to be corrected -
quickly. MLK became the face of "what should be done" in a singular manner.
There were many others (fortunately) who were speaking out but he was pretty
much the prime mover with the greatest following.

From Annie:
I was in college when he assasinated. It was if all our heroes were being shot - JFK, Robert, then Martin. It was a terrible blow for me, because they had ideals and were inspring to me. MLK had many death threats during his years of activism. I don't think any of us white folk know what that is like and what the challenges he faced and withstood. I'm glad Stevie Wonder pushed to have a national holiday for him aand what he stood for.

From Bob and Brenda (mostly Brenda):
Having school age childern who spent alot of time hearing about M.L.K., esp. during black history month, ( Feb) .I can't say for sure if his assination increased his popularity or not. But having lived trough his time I learned much more about him helping with their homework. He indeed was a great leader as were many other leaders in history (not so studied about). I suppose we will never know of all that he could have accomplished had he not been assissanated. Nor the dirt that would have been dug up on him as in all of politics these days. I feel that his assissination def lead to his fame because we forget to celebrate people who are living. Had he died a natural death his claim to fame would not have been as great because he would not have been considered to have died for his cause. Too bad we can't get more government holidays for the rest of the great leaders of our country! Guess who I work f or!!!!
