Have you heard that the Sudent Gov't of Montclair State University has frozen funds for the school newspaper? The newpaper claims it is because they were questioning the Student Gov't holding closed meetings, which is a violation of the Open Meetings Act of NJ. The Student Gov't says they frooze the funds because, now get this, the paper hired an attorney to look into the SG's holding of closed meetings. The SG says they should have used the SG attorney...are they friggin kidding? Yeah, and that attorney would be totally objective....right!!!!!!!!! Oh and the last name of the SG prez..."Chicken"...go figure
So, next Tuesday is the primary, here in NJ, so you folks who really want your fave candidate to be the next nominee, need to get out there and vote.....
Now on to the important stuff....THE SUPERBOWL IS SUNDAY!!!! Yes kiddies, it's here...and what? the Giants are in it...not the Eagles or the 49ers???? How could that happen....oh some people, and you know who you are, would say that the Giants "cheated"....of course you would say that.....sour grapes indeed.....suck it up and be fair about it.....or be a sore loser and whine...doesn't matter, cause the Giants are in it.....and that will be the ONLY thing on my tv on Sunday night.......

Rudy who?
So.....Florida pretty much took care of Rudy Gulliani.....ok, ok...Rudy actually took care of himself. Besides his constant use of 9/11...no, make that disrespectful use of 9/11....which in itself should have bounced his ass from any consideration for the Rep Nomination.....you would think when his home state and the NY Times wouldn't back him that he would have gotten a clue.....but, I think the fact that he didn't get the hint from that pretty much sums up his abilities to rationalize things.....so were are basically down to Romney and McCain for the Rep nominee....Huckabee...is well..Huckabee......that says it all.....scary isn't it....

Stand up, Sit Down
Well, Bush made his last speech to the nation...at least I hope it was the last one....cause I don't think I will be able to keep my food down if he does another......what a buffoon. And how stupid do the Senators and Congressfolk look....when they stand up and sit down...who knows how many times, but I'm sure someone counted...and how funny was it when the Rep half would stand and the Dems would stay seated.....yep, we're one nation alright.....as long as you're on the winning side....what a friggin farce...it's no wonder other countries watch us and laugh.....
On a brighter note, it's Tuesday and one day closer to the weekend.....

No More Speeches
Well, it looks as though tonight is the last State of the Union for GW....thankfully.....oh, he'll get the usual standing ovations.....from the Rep side of the room, but I'm betting not as many of his party will be supporting him as there used to be...many are trying to distance themselves from the sinking ship that is the USS GW...and can you blame them? Wouldn't it be a breath of fresh air if instead of the usual rhetoric coming from GW's mouth, he was honest and up front with his speech...perhaps it would go something like this
(starting off with his signature laugh)
"heh, heh.....well y'all, I really F**ked things up, didn't I...heh, heh...I mean really, did any of you think there were WMD's over there????? heh, heh, heh.....and how about Iraq.....I really pulled a boner on that invasion thing......boy howdy, and you all supported me...well up to a point...heh, heh...guess I'm not going to be remembered for being the best prez ever...heh, heh, heh...well, on that note, F**k y'all, I'm outta here"

Sunday and no football :(
Ok, so it's Sat night...well it was yesterday, and I'm watching TV....and the commercials are running....let's see if you can guess what they are for...hmmmm, here's one for Vagisil...any guesses ladies?...or Garlique...now there's a stumper...there are numerous products on the market that pretty much are named for either their contents or where they are to be applied....so why don't we have others like say....."Shit-Ur-Brains-out" instead of ex-lax...I mean, ex-lax sounds like an anti-laxative, when we all know it is quite good at what it does.....then theres Pepto Bismal...WTF, it should be called "Stop Pukin"....I mean c'mon folks if we're gonna label some products for the things they do, why not all.....do any of you have any other good product "names"?
On a slightly different note, the weather is cloudy and cold....no fun at all, perhaps another day of chores as there is nothing interesting to go do today...enjoy your weekend all..don't forget next Sunday is the Superbowl...and who's not playing in it Joe.... :)

Yawn!!!
Well if you missed the Rep debate last night, you didn't miss much...what a snoozer.....these guys are about as lively as a 3 toed sloth watching paint dry...I mean c'mon you guys...spark it up a little....at least the Dems almost came to blows, no offense Hillary. Oh wait, McCain did make a funny about Stallone going to Huckabees camp to beat up Chuck Norris, Ooooooooooooooooo 2 old action figures battling it out.....how sad would that be.....hey and what about Gulliani...how embarrassing for him, his own hometown paper, NYTimes, endorses McCain instead of him.....is he that stupid not to drop out...does he have that much money to waste? Hey Rudy, send your excess cash to me, I promise I'll buy something real nice and purty.....
Well, it's Friday and friggin cold here in the NE, but as each day is passing it gets closer to the warmer weather and riding time.
Catch you all tomorrow

Last Word
Ok, if I have to stomach anymore HEATH coverage I'm going to hurl....enough already, he was a nobody, got a good part in a movie, he's dead...move on...geez....Furturama is back on and all we hear about is this one hit wonder....and what about the Obama vs Clinton battle...I mean, that's been pushed back for the coverage of the pill poppin stiff....hello? one of these clowns is probably going to be the next President...what? You don't think a republican's going to win....with the way GWB has totally F'ed things up for his party....not to mention his gaggle of sleazeball cronies.....any Rep who sides with GWB might as well resign from politics now cause when the voters go to the pols, it's all over for the GOP this round.....

Heath Who?
Well, just when you thought you'd seen it all.....Oh My God, Heath Ledger is dead.....I don't know how I fell asleep last night....what, you have no idea who Heath Ledger is??? Don't feel bad, neither did I until all the tv channels just HAD to cover this TRAGIC story....so, I found out he did Brokeback Mountain....well, slap me upside my head and call me stupid, how could I not know that...oh simple, never saw the movie....nor did I care to...so what else is Heath famous for???? Why there's Brokeback Mountain, and then there's.....Brokeback Mountain...and who could forget his famous portrayal in .....you guessed it Brokeback Mountain....that's all folks....his longstanding illustrious career.....YET, Jeffrey Lyons almost broke down telling the sad and tragic tale of HL's long life...WTF, he was 28....he did one friggin dumbass movie and he's a legend...sorry....and then there's this guy from People mag on channel 3 news this morning saying how HL's breakout role, which would make him "an international star", I kid you not, is his portrayal of the Joker in the upcoming movie "The Dark Knight" yet another Batman movie, cause we surely needed another...so by portraying the Joker in a movie that probably a select few will actually pay money to see, is going to make him an "International Star"...are you fucking kidding me...and this guy works for People mag...oh, never mind, that pretty much says it all...talk about wasting air time....hey Heath, thanks for all the great pictures you've made.........Brokeback Mountain....

Obama vs Clinton Smackdown
Did any of you get a load of the Dem debate last night on TV? What a friggin fiasco.....Obama and Clinton were at each others like kids in the schoolyard...and Edwards just sat back and llet them make fools of themselves....I gotta tell ya, if last night were the election....I would not have voted for either Obama or Clinton.....who would want either of them running a country....hopefully they will get back to the issues and stop bashing each other....

Happy Saturday
So, the weekend has arrived and we survived the 1st edition of the Blog....I think it looks pretty good, oh yeah, I know it needs to be tweaked here and there but for a 1st attempt, not too shabby....so, what to do on a long weekend? Well, doing laundry of course...not much in the way of events going on this weekend so it may be a cooking, cleaning type of thang...which is not all that bad..get some food made for the week and pretty things up around here....being productive for once. The weather is not going to be too cooperative...and Sunday is going to be too damn cold to venture outside....and there are playoffs to watch anyway....maybe just curl up on the couch, with some yummy food and brewskies and relax.
Well, however you are spending your Sat I hope you enjoy it

What do you think
Hey Gang, here's the BLOG. Let me know what you think of it. Also, any suggestions for it.
MLK Comments
Here are some of the responses to my recent MLK email
From Renee:
I was in college. We were not "taught" about his work, but it was very
prevalent on the newscasts - we saw the marches and heard the speeches
(parts thereof). The whole time was one of upheaval with the war and the
Civil Rights movement, when my generation was trying to make the country
more responsive to what we saw as things that needed to be corrected -
quickly. MLK became the face of "what should be done" in a singular manner.
There were many others (fortunately) who were speaking out but he was pretty
much the prime mover with the greatest following.
From Annie:
I was in college when he assasinated. It was if all our heroes were being shot - JFK, Robert, then Martin. It was a terrible blow for me, because they had ideals and were inspring to me. MLK had many death threats during his years of activism. I don't think any of us white folk know what that is like and what the challenges he faced and withstood. I'm glad Stevie Wonder pushed to have a national holiday for him aand what he stood for.
From Bob and Brenda (mostly Brenda):
Having school age childern who spent alot of time hearing about M.L.K., esp. during black history month, ( Feb) .I can't say for sure if his assination increased his popularity or not. But having lived trough his time I learned much more about him helping with their homework. He indeed was a great leader as were many other leaders in history (not so studied about). I suppose we will never know of all that he could have accomplished had he not been assissanated. Nor the dirt that would have been dug up on him as in all of politics these days. I feel that his assissination def lead to his fame because we forget to celebrate people who are living. Had he died a natural death his claim to fame would not have been as great because he would not have been considered to have died for his cause. Too bad we can't get more government holidays for the rest of the great leaders of our country! Guess who I work f or!!!!
